Will my HOA approve an aluminum fence?
Usually, and in several Tallahassee communities aluminum is the only thing they will approve. Some specify it down to the brand and the color. SouthWood is the strictest we work in.

Can aluminum be used as a pool barrier?
Yes, and it is the most common choice here. Florida sets requirements for barrier height, the gaps between pickets, the clearance at ground level, and self closing and self latching hardware on any gate into the pool area.

What happens where the ground is not level?
The top rail is held level and the ground is allowed to fall away underneath it, which is what gives a run of aluminum its line. On steeper ground the panels step instead.
Which one applies to your yard is a decision we make with you before anything is ordered, because the two look completely different when they are finished.
Why aluminum instead of wood?
It does not rot, it does not need staining, and it does not move the way wood does. In this climate all three matter.
